Recently, the growth has accelerated even more. This is mainly due to 1) the retiring or snow bird population moving out of crowded and high-cost-of-living cities in AZ, CA, OR, and NV, and 2) a fast growing domestic tourist market reacting to a weak dollar and a post-9/11 decrease in foreign travel. Flying has become more tedious, and the costs of European vacations have gone up by almost 50% in the last year.
